When I first introduced Russell to my current boyfriend, Russell was honestly scared. He said straight men made him nervous. I reassured him I would NEVER ever EVER be with a man who would be cruel or harmful to him, I guess that calmed his nerves. One evening he spent the night and I went to work. I guess while I was at work Marc forced Russell to hang out with him. On their adventure Marc and Russell ran into a group of homeless men at the local Circle K. Marc being the social butterfly he is striked up a conversation with them. At some point during the conversation one of the men said his life was really frustrating because ... and without words he just pointed at his shoes. I guess his shoes were actually pretty nice, but they had no shoelaces... And guess what? Sweet Russell sat down and started to unlace his own shoes ... minutes later the police decided to confront them but Marc explained the situation "hey we're just chatting up these guys and my friend here is giving his shoelaces to this guy here" at that point i guess the police officer just looked at the situation and moved on. So Russell gave his shoe laces to a complete stranger... which is something I can honestly say I have never done nor would even consider. Stuff like that changes people. The man with no shoe laces probably wont remember Russell's name but I can guarantee he will ALWAYS remember the stranger who gave up his shoes laces for him. Russell will live on forever as long as we continue to act as he would. Love a stranger. Give to others. And never judge.
